Team Fluery did well this year on the curling circuit and is seeded first, but lost the finals of both Olympic Trials and the Manitoba Playdowns. A good top 3 pick being in the easier Pool A.
Team Walker struggled at the beginning of the Scotties last year, but then came back to get the bronze metal. Could end up between 3rd and 6th.
Was unstoppable at the Scotties last year, but barely made a tie breaker at the Olympic Trials. Will probably make the final, a good pick to win.
Former Scotties winner Chelsea Carey's new team lost in the Saskatchewan playdowns final. This team is a true wild card, and could be anywhere from 3rd to not making the Championship pool
This team has won the Scotties 3 times, but will be without it's leader Rachel Homan while she plays at the Olympics. Typically a pick to win, without Homan this is probably a middling team between 3rd and 6th.
This is the first time team Parker has made the Scotties. Expect them to do well in the beginning playing in the easier Pool A, but struggle once they hit the Championship Pool. Between 6th to 9th.
This young team played as a Wild Card at the Scotties last year, struggled early but played well at times. They won the Manitoba playdowns this year, one the hardest provincial playdowns to win. They didn't make the top 4 in Pool play last year, but should squeak into Pool B. Between 5th and 10th.
Another Scotties rookie, on the bubble of making the Championship Pool out of the tougher Pool B. Between 7th and 13th.
Team McCarville always seems to be seeded low, but is close to winning every time she is in these events, including the Olympic Trials where she ended up with bronze. Between 4th and 9th.
This team will have one win against either Wild Card #2, Wild Card #3, Saskatchewan, or Northern Ontario, but it won't be enough to get them into the Championship pool. 10th to 14th.
This team made the Olympic Pre Trials this winter, and is probably the best women's team we have seen from the territories. Between 9th and 13th
This could be the dark horse of the competition. It has Mary-Anne Arsenault, who won 5 Scotties championships in the early 2000s for Nova Scotia. Somewhere between 6th and 9th.
Did surprisingly well in the bubble at last years Scotties, ending up 11th. Will probably end up around there again. Between 11th and 14th.
A coin flip between them and Nunavut on who will end up last in Pool A. 16th to 18th
Rookie team, should be able to beat Yukon but nobody else in Pool B. 15th or 16th
This team was the dark horse last year, making it to the Championship Pool. This year they are in the tougher Pool B though. Between 9th and 13th.
More people will compete at the Scotties than actually live in Nunavut. 16th to 18th
Cannon fodder. Won't win a game. 17th or 18th
